Zhengfu Guo is the director of Committee for Volcanology, China Association for Disaster Prevention (CADP), the deputy director of Committee for Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior, the Society of Chinese Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, the deputy director of Committee for Gas Geochemistry, the Society of Chinese Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, the vice chairman and secretary-general of Chinese National Committee for International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior, council member of China Association for Disaster Prevention(CADP), committee member of Visioning Committee, International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics, and editorial board member of the journal of Bulletin of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, and the editorial board member of journal of Seismology and Geology.


Research Interests:
  1. Post-collisional K-rich magmatism in Tibet and its constraints on uplift of the Tibetan Plateau; 
  2. Greenhouse gas emissions from typical Cenozoic volcanic fields in China;
  3. Cenozoic volcanism (especially the volcanic gases) and its implications for paleo-environmental  changes; 
  4.  Palaeoelevation estimation on the basis of vesicular basalts in the Tibetan Plateau.
