Education and Appointments:
GUO Jinghui is currently a research fellow of professor level at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was graduated from the Department of Geology, Peking University in 1984. Then, he began to study Precambrian geology for many years, and got his PhD in 1993, at the Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with supervisors Professor Zhao Zhongpu, E Molan and Cong Bolin. He spent a year for visiting research in the University of Liverpool with Dr. John Wheeler during 1996-1997. His research is mainly on Precambrian geology of the North China craton (NCC), especially on the HP granulites, UHT granulites and related Palaeoproterozoic (1.95-1.85Ga) collisional tectonics giving rise to the assemblage of the NCC. Also, his research group is aiming to the late Archaean crustal accretion and differentiation superevent in the NCC.

Research Interests:
(1) Metamorphism of granulites and the Paleoproterozoic collisional tectonics of the North China craton;
(2) UHT metamorphism, lower crustal segregation and extra heating mechanism;
(3) origin of TTG gneiss terrane and tectonics of late Archean crustal growth in the North China craton.
