Education
In September 1983, I started undergraduate studies in the Geology Department of the Changchun Geological College in northeastern China. After obtaining my Bachelor degree in the summer of 1987, I passed the Masters examination and studied in the graduate school of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. In July 1993, I recieved a Ph.D. in Geology from the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. Prof. Xiao Xuchang was my thesis advisor. Thesis title: Plate tectonics and geodynamics of the orogeny of the Southwest Tianshan Mountains.

Employment
October 1993 ~ September 1995, Postdoctoral researcher, Department of Geology, Peking University.
    Main emphasis of research: ophiolites, HP rocks, thrusts, strike-slip faults and tectonics of the Tianshan orogenic belt.
October 1995 ~ October 1996, Associate researcher (Associate Professor), Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences.
    Main emphasis of research: high pressure-low temperature metamorphic rocks in the Tianshan orogenic belt.

    Main emphasis of research: eclogites, blueschists and tectonics of the Chinese Tianshan orogenic belt.
