Background/ Biography
Likuan Zhang, is associate professor of Petroleum Geology at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences(IGGCAS). In 2004, Dr. Zhang joined the IGGCAS first as a doctor, then as post-doctor and, since 2012, as Associate Professor. He is also the secretary of Hydrocarbon Migration Research Group of Chinese Petroleum Society, a member of Council of Beijing Petroleum Society, and a member of shale gas Professional Committee of Sichuan Petroleum Society of China. Likuan worked on quantitative evaluation of fault opening and sealing properties for hydrocarbon migration, numerical basin modeling in petroleum systems, and development of numerical hydrocarbon migration simulation techniques. In recent years, Dr. Zhang has focused his research on the dynamic mechanism of hydrocarbon migration and accumulation in the unconventional tight-sandstone. More than 90 research papers as author or co-author have been published in the Chinese and English academic journals.
