Da Lei received his B.Sc. degree in applied geophysics from the China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, China, in 1989, and Ph.D. degree in geophysics from the China University of Geosciences, Beijing, China, in 2005.
In 1989, he joined the Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration (IGGE), Langfang, Hebei, China, as Assistant Researcher in Surface Geophysics, and became an Associate Professor and a Professor of Geophysics in 2000 and 2006, respectively. In 2014, he joined the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. His research interests include controlled source electromagnetic, magnetotelluric and transient electromagnetic methods forward modeling and inversion, and development of EM Instruments.

Research Interests:
Controlled source electromagnetic method forward modeling and inversion;
Magnetotelluric method forward modeling and inversion;
Transient electromagnetic method forward modeling and inversion;
Research on electric resistivity tomography and its application;
Research and Development of EM Instruments.
